BRITISH TRADITIONS:
- people decorate the Christmas tree;
- on December 1st children hang their Advent Calendar and then open one of its little door each day until Christmas;
- children write letters to Santa Claus;
- families get together to celebrate Christmas;
- people hang mistletoe inside the house, and have to kiss when they stop under it;
- people sing Christmas carols from house to house;
- at Christmas dinner people usually eat roast turkey and vegetables, and for dessert they eat Christmas pudding;
- at Christmas dinner, Christmas crackers are placed next to each plate on the table. People pull the crackers and get a small surprise;
- on Christmas eve children hang their stockings by the chimney;
- children leave cookies and milk for Santa Claus;
- children open their presents at midnight;
- people give and receive presents.
